Coach: Rickey Bruner Jr.
20-21 Record: 12-11
Never count out the Sapulpa Chieftains, especially when head coach Rickey Bruner Jr. uses words like scrappy to describe his team. “We are young, scrappy and hungry,” said coach Bruner. “We are really young and will be where we need to be when we need to be there!” One guy to watch is guard Kylen Edwards (6-2, So.). Electric with the ball, Edwards is an athletic playmaker who can get to the basket. Coach Bruner believes he may be the most underrated sophomore in Oklahoma. That will change after this season. Payton Bullock (6-0, So.) is a lefty who does all the little things to help his team win. Gavin Reed (6-0, Jr.) is a tough defender and a Top 100 player for Sapulpa. Jayden Williams (5-11, Jr.) is a crafty guard that can see the court and make great passes. Romen Abbage (6-5, So.) has loads of potential coach Bruner and the staff are tapping into. Abbage may have the highest ceiling on the team. Terry Gaddis (5-7, Jr.) can run the offense and play scrappy defense. Issac Ragsdale (5-8, So.) is the sharpshooter on the team and is not afraid to let it fly. Joseph Willibey (6-2, Jr.) is a versatile player that does whatever the team needs him to do to win. Also look for Zac Lewis, a crafty player that can score and create opportunities for others.
