Mom to three busy baseball players, Chelsea Penn has spent her fair share of time on the baseball field. Getting involved with volunteering when her eldest son was in elementary school, Chelsea started out with the Parent Teacher Association. Currently she volunteers as the Vice President for Sapulpa Booster Club.
“Parents must get involved to continue the work of a program,” said Chelsea. “Our booster club, involving parents and players, works tirelessly to raise money and engage our community for the betterment of the program. Without our booster club, the boys would not have the ability to travel for games or tournaments and have updated workout equipment. It takes a village, it is not just about my kid, it is about 65 boys that love the game and deserve every opportunity we can provide.”
Not only does she feel it is truly important to be involved to help with her kids’ programs, but she truly loves it.
“In addition to being there to be a part of all my kids’ activities I absolutely love having a relationship with the other players,” Chelsea said. “Some of them I know just by name, and some are like my own kids. Anytime I am at the field I always get a hug or a high five. Our head coach is building a program that develops amazing baseball players, but more than that, he strives to develop good humans. Volunteering, raising awareness and money allows him to continue that mission.”
With baseball playing such a huge and important role in Chelsea and her family’s lives during the off season her boys love to get away to the lake or go snowboarding. Chelsea is not busy volunteering and raising a family she is also a dedicated real estate agent at Keller Williams as well as running a non-profit organization.
