VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year and season?

Mataya: My goals for this year and season are to continue maintaining my 4.1 gpa while continuing to get better at both basketball and volleyball and help both teams win state!

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

Mataya: I would say the best experience I’ve had in the last year was going to the state tournament and all the travel I got to do during the AAU season.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Mataya: My favorite teacher is Ms. Baker because she always encouraged and challenged

me to be the best I can be. She is also the best TikTok teacher out there!

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

Mataya: My favorite athletic memory was when we beat Sand Springs in volleyball and basketball, at their place, with the most amazing and live Chieftain crowd ever!

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Mataya: My teammate Ryann Hoey has left the biggest impression on me because she always worked incredibly hard while being positive and having fun doing what she loves.

VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?

Mataya: We all take turns joking with Coach Harp, but I would say Trinity and Kinzie say the funniest things during games.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Mataya: I would probably choose to vacation in the Maldives Islands with my best friends.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

Mataya: I would probably buy a new pair of shoes, quite a few ooze tubes from QT, and finish it off with dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant, Señor Pancho’s in BA!
