Find Out Who Inspires Sapulpa’s Sage Adams and More – Presented by Advanced Care Veterinary Hospital

VYPE: How did your season turn out and what goals did you have?

Sage: My goals this season were to improve my batting average, get all district catcher and become a better leader. I increased my batting average, made all district catcher and became a better leader for my team. The season didn’t end the way we wanted with us not making it to state, but I created new bonds with my Sapulpa teammates and made great memories.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

Sage: The most fun thing I have done in the past year is Nationals in Fort Walton Beach in Florida. I got to play softball, visit new places, and spend time with my family.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Sage: My favorite teacher I have had is my 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Vaughan. She made me enjoy school and want to become an elementary teacher.

VYPE: Who do you look up to and why?

Sage: I look up to my aunt, Cady Byrnes. She was an all decade softball player at Ottawa University. She coached at the travel ball, high school, and collegiate levels. She is now a K9 police officer with Sapulpa Police Department. She pushes me to be the best person I can be on and off the field. She helps me with all aspects of my softball skills. She really focuses on my mindset, character, and leadership skills.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Sage: The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me is Daniah Blation. She leads by example through her attitude and effort. She is the best kind of teammate to have and is one I aspire to be.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Sage: The best part of being on this team is the relationships I’ve built and the opportunity to compete in the sport I love.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Sage: If I could pick any place for a summer vacation I would go to Bora Bora. I would bring my travel ball team and a few other close friends. The amount of memories we would make would be incredible. I always have a great time with them and know it would be a time to remember.

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing softball?

Sage: I got into first playing softball by my aunt- Cady Byrnes. I went to a lot of her college games. I’ve been playing since I was 7.

YYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Sage: I would like to first thank my Dad and Grandma for always being my biggest fans and supporters. Even through all the lectures I wouldn’t know what to do without them. I want to secondly thank my grandpa for always supporting me and always being “the parrot”. I want to then thank my aunt for all the time and dedication she has given me to improve. I would next like to thank my mom, brother, great grandma, great aunt, and great uncle for always coming out to my games and supporting me. I would then like to thank Erin Miller, Lynnsie Elam, Mandy Sullivent, and Ashley Chesser for sharing all their knowledge and love of the game with me. I want to next thank my travel ball coach Ty Chidester for the opportunity to take the next step in my travel ball career. He’s the type of coach every player wants to play for. Last, I want to thank my school ball coaches: Coach Veach, Coach Agee, and Coach Hill for their guidance and help shaping my future as a student athlete.
