Jace Parker Talks Life On and Off the Court – Presented by RibCrib

VYPE: Jace, what grade are you in this year and when did you start playing basketball? What position are you playing?

Jace Parker: I am a sophomore. I started playing basketball around the age of four and I am a combo guard.

VYPE: What is the strength of your game and what have you improved on the most?
JP: The strengths of my game are my ball handling and shooting. This season I have improved on playing off the ball and getting open to be able to receive the ball.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite moment on or off the court as a Chieftain?
JP: My favorite moment as a player for Sapulpa HS was winning the Sequoyah Invitational Tournament and making six three-pointers in the championship game.

VYPE: What makes SHS a great place for you as a student-athlete?
JP: The high expectations and work ethic of Sapulpa’s culture makes it a great place for me to be a student athlete.

VYPE: Which teammate has impressed you this season?
JP: I’ve been impressed with the way Zachery Lewis has played this season, he’s given us high scoring performances.

VYPE: Who keeps everyone laughing and who is the most serious teammate?
JP: Brice Currin usually keeps the team laughing. Jalen Pratt is the most serious.

VYPE: How do you mentally prepare yourself for competition?
JP: To prepare myself for competition, I put in headphones and listen to music before the game while visualizing myself performing well.

VYPE: What do you love most about this team and your teammates?
JP: I appreciate my teammates taking responsibility with showing up to practice and keeping grades in check.

VYPE: What are your plans for life after high school?
JP: Go to college to pursue business or real estate, and eventually attend law school.
