Q&A with Sapulpa’s Garrett Mason – Presented by Rib Crib

VYPE: What do you love most about being a student-athlete at Sapulpa HS?

Garrett Mason: Being able to have time to do school and baseball, they usually have problems at different schools, but here you can do both with time.

VYPE: What grade are you in and what position do you play?

GM: I am a senior, and I’m a pitcher.

VYPE: What’s your favorite pitch to throw?

GM: My favorite pitch to throw is my slider.

VYPE: Steal a base or knock a double, which do you prefer?

GM: Knock a double when I can.

VYPE: What’s your favorite subject in school and do you have a favorite teacher?

GM: English. My English teacher Mr. Ford is amazing. He understands you and your problems if you have them. He’s funny like a teenager and doesn’t have a lot of homework.

VYPE: Which teammate always impresses you the most or do you have a former teammate who left an impression on you?

GM: Former player, Blayne Couch, didn’t start but he was always there for you on and off the field.

VYPE: What do you tell yourself when you’re on the mound?

GM: What I tell myself on the mound is, you’re the best person for this job, and compete.

VYPE: What is your favorite pre-game and post-game meal?

GM: My favorite meal after a game is a bag of burgers at Braums.

VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

GM: I love spending time with my friends.

VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?

GM: Go to Coffeyville to play college baseball and study fire science.
