Sapulpa’s Brynlee Pinson
Sapulpa High School senior Brynlee Pinson is a member of one of the more recognizable groups in Oklahoma, the Sapulpa Ping Pings. So many kids grow up wanting to become a Ping Ping, but once you become a team member, the work and responsibilities come fast.
“Being a member of the Ping Pings means so much to me. Whenever you put on those iconic white boots you are representing so much more than just yourself and your current team. You are representing the legacy that came before you and all of the little girls that may come after and it is a feeling of pride unlike any other,” said Pinson.
More like a sisterhood according to Pinson, the team has worked hard to ensure they are sharp and ready for games and competition.
“What I love most about my team and teammates at Sapulpa is the family we have. Ping is so much more than just a team, it’s a sisterhood that we all share, and you are always a part of. Every single girl I’ve shared the stage with as a Ping, both past and present, holds a special place in my heart and I am so thankful for those relationships I have built throughout the past three years,” Pinson said. “I expect this season to be great! I’m sure there will be challenges along the way but the Pings are no stranger to that and I can’t wait to see how these experiences push us to be better and closer as a team and hopefully they lead us to a very successful year.”
Pinson is a member of National Honor Society and a regular volunteer at various places around the Sapulpa community and the local areas. She also serves as Senior Class Historian.
The senior said it’s her mother that inspires her, on and off the field.
“My biggest inspiration is without a doubt my mom. She has always gone after exactly what she wants and works extremely hard for it no matter what it might be. She is kind, encouraging, and a great listener. Whenever I brought up moving to Sapulpa to pursue being a Ping Ping she was extremely supportive throughout the whole process. She never lied to me and said it would be an easy thing to do but she always made sure I knew if I wanted it I could do it, and I hope to one day be as good of a person and mother that she is,” said Pinson.
After high school, Pinson would like to attend college at the University of Oklahoma. As for her free time?
“In my free time I enjoy reading, dancing as a competitive dancer at my studio, Ovations, watching all sorts of popular tv shows, and painting. I have actually recently started up a little banner painting business in my free time,” said Pinson.
