Twenty-five years of teaching at Sapulpa Public Schools as well as graduating from Sapulpa, Lori Arundell has spent a large majority of her life in the Sapulpa school system. Lori graduated from the high school then went on to attend college at the University of Tulsa majoring in math and education. She spent eight years at the junior high teaching Geometry, Algebra I, and Pre-Algebra. Then moved on to the high school teaching Algebra II, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, as well as College Algebra and that is where she has been ever since.
“My favorite part about teaching is helping kids to be confident in their math skills and establishing the bond that you create with them,” Lori said.
Not only does Lori keep herself busy teaching, she also spends her time as the head varsity soccer coach, co-head middle school soccer coach, high school math department head, and finally the sophomore class sponsor. To say the least Lori is extremely dedicated to the Sapulpa school system and to the students.
Her inspiration to get into teaching came from her high school math teacher at Sapulpa high school, Jack Madding. And now that she has become a teacher her inspiration to live up to his standards are all about the people she is surrounded by.
“My inspiration now comes from trying to be the best version of myself I can be for my students, athletes, and co-workers,” said Lori.
In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer in a women’s league and spending time with her family. During her summer you will catch her at soccer camps and helping run the All-State soccer games.
Lori has been married to her husband John for 25 years and they have two wonderful daughters, Sara and Paige.
