Sapulpa Ping-Pings Seniors Q&A
The Sapulpa Ping Pings dance team is a hard-working group. VYPE did a quick Q&A with their six seniors as they reflect on their years on the team.
VYPE: What makes being a Ping Ping special to you?
Evie Soares: It’s amazing to help out other people in our school and support other teams.
Bailey Webb: It’s more than just dancing. It’s about representing my school and being part of a legacy. We get to perform in front of our community and make memories that will last a lifetime. I love how I get to represent the white boots at games.
Laney Jones: It’s a feeling unlike any other. Whenever you have the boots on you feel like you’re on top of the world, and you can do anything. We’re also involved in a lot of different community events and it’s the best feeling to be a part of such a rich Sapulpa tradition.
Jayden Simpson: I get to celebrate all of our wins and challenges with my team and my community. The school has always helped encourage us and be there to watch and support us and that’s what I love most.
Paisley Williams: Being a Ping is so special to me because it’s about representing the people that came before us and allowing our legacy to grow.
Evie Walling: The support and love from our community is overwhelming and so amazing. We have so many people that support us and so many little kids that look up to us.
VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?
Evie Soares: The family aspect of our team. We always find a way to have fun while also continuing to work hard in practice and performances. We continue to grow and go through challenges, and it brings us closer every day.
Bailey Webb: Our bond. We push each other to be better, both in dance and in life. Everyone is super supportive, and we genuinely have fun together, even during the tough practices. They love unconditionally and I know I can always count on them.
Laney Jones: They’re basically a second family. We spend every morning together and they’re usually the first people you see every day. You become family as soon as you join the team and it’s a really special bond because they’re the only other people that go through what you go through and know what it’s like.
Jayden Simpson: We are one big family. I love all of those girls with my whole heart and I have met some of my lifelong friends during my four years on this team.
Paisley Williams: The family dynamic we have and that we can always rely on each other for help no matter what it’s about!
Evie Walling: The family bond we have. We spend almost every morning together and practice for hours, even throughout the hard work and exhaustion, we always have each other. My teammates are my best friends and I know they’re always one call away.
