Evan Quinton, Mason Quinton, Drake Geeteh, and Izsik Meza added their names to the Sapulpa High School track and field record wall earlier today. These four men were apart of the 4×800 meter relay team that finished second at the 2022 5A State Track Meet and set a new school record with a time of 8:08.47. The previous record was set back in the 1980s with a time of 8:05.

Middle and long-distance track coach, Zach Mark, had very high remarks for the relay team. “These young men worked harder and had the best competitive drive of any athletes I’ve ever been around”, said Mark. “They are model student-athletes and I’m very proud of them”, he added.
The three seniors and lone sophomore, Izsik Meza, ran together all season and kept improving each and every meet to finally be able to set the record at the final meet of the season. “This record has been a goal they’ve been chasing”, said Jeremy Lusk, head varsity track coach. “They’ve left a legacy for younger runners of Sapulpa to chase after, not just because of that record, but because of the way they approached every day at practice, at school, and in the community”, Lusk continued.
Geeteh and the Quinton twins graduated from Sapulpa High School in May and were selected by the Oklahoma Cross Country and Track Coaches Association for the 2022 Senior All-Star Team. Izsik Meza returns next spring for his junior season where he looks to break the 400m and 800m school records.
